My German ancestors, physicians in the European Nature Cure tradition, all emphasized the importance of rest and relaxation in natural settings. Since I was a little boy, therefore, oceans and mountains and forests have always held the promise of revitalization for me. I like nothing better than to spend my vacations on undeveloped earth, preferably in places that offer authentic regional food! While the combination of pristine natural scenery and delectable cooking is hard to find, there are several places in the world where I regularly return because they embody this formula. Playa Viva, an eco-resort situated on an undeveloped stretch of the Pacific Coast in Mexico, is such a place.
I invite you to join me at Playa Viva for a glorious immersion in the bounties of nature—perfect temperature salt water, dolphins swimming by the breakfast table, hatching turtles, sunrise walks along miles of pristine beach, daily qigong sessions in an oceanside studio, and lovingly prepared organic meals made from materials produced on-site.

Cost
$2900/person: shared room of 3-4 people/ 1 bathroom
$3300/person: private double cabin/1 bathroom
$4200: private single room with bathroom
If you wish to book an entire Manta, you get 2 private rooms that share a bathroom. The cost is $3400/person; 3 person minimum required for your group
$1400 for children 6-17 years old.
Children under 5 years old are free. If you are bringing your family, let’s talk to find the best fit for you.
Deposit
A $2,000 deposit is required to secure your spot in the retreat. You will be directed to make the payment after submitting your application form.
Refund Policy
Due to the administrative work, costs of the retreat center, and limited space, deposits are non-refundable. Any balance paid is non-refundable unless we can fill your spot, which we will make every effort to do, in the event you need to cancel.
Registration & Payment Deadlines
The remaining balance is due by October 1, 2025. Your spot in the retreat may be offered to someone else, and your deposit will not be refunded if payment is not made on time.
